NINGXIA RED RECIPES
Ningxia Red Sunrise Smoothie
- 2 c. unsweetened rice or soy milk
- 1 c. frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or marionberries)
- 1 small apple (remove seeds and core)
- 1 c. ice cubes
- 1/2 c. Ningxia Red (shake well)
- 1/2 c. organic, low-fat, plain yogurt (or kefir)
- 2 Tbs. Blue Agave (or 2 Tbs. of organic honey, to taste)
- 1 Tbs. Balance Complete (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. pure vanilla
- 2-3 drops lemon essential oil
- Put all of the following ingredients into blender. Blend on highest setting for thirty seconds. Serve in medium glasses. Makes 5-5 1/2 cups.
Wolfberry Granola Snack
Sustained Immune Defense
- 3 c. 6-grain flakes, multigrain flakes or muesli
- 1 c. unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/2 c. brown rice flour
- 1/2 c. whole oat flour
- 1/2 c. wolfberries, dried
- 1/2 c. raw cashew pieces
- 1/2 c. chopped raw pecans
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- small pinch freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/3 c. + 1 Tbs. organic Blue Agave
- 1 cube + 2 Tbs. organic butter
- 2 generous Tbs. organic honey
- 3 Tbs. soy milk
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine all dry ingredients in the bowl of an electric mixer with paddle attachment. Combine wet ingredients in a small saucepan and heat on low, stirring often, until butter is completely melted. Then, pour heated wet ingredients over dry and mix on low speed until well combined.
Spread into a large, lightly oiled, jellyroll pan to about a centimeter in height. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown over all. Let cool completely. Break into bite size pieces.
Ningxia Red Creamsicles
Quick and Delicious
INGREDIENTS
1 c Ningxia Red
1 c vanilla yogurt
1 c fresh or frozen fruit (pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, etc.)
DIRECTIONS
Blend ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Pour into popsicle molds and freeze
according to mold directions, about 4 hours.
Makes 6
Breakfast Berry Delight
Dynamic Energy and Stamina
- 1 c. plain yogurt (or kefir)
- 1/2 c. berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
- 1 oz. NingXia Red Juice
- Top off with 1 tsp. Blue Agave (optional)
- Top off with 1/2 c. cooked oatmeal (optional)
- Blend, mix, or layer the following ingredients.
Makes 1 serving.
Apricot Wolfberry Oatmeal
Lasting Energy
- 3 c. water
- 1/2 c. frozen (unsweetened) apple juice concentrate, thawed
- 1/2 c. dried apricots, chopped finely
- 1/4 c. dried wolfberries
- 1 1/2 c. old fashioned or quick cooking rolled oats
- Bring water and apple juice concentrate to a boil. Add oats, apricots, and wolfberries; simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and cover; let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Makes 2 servings.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Delicious and Healthy
- 1 c. unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 c. Blue Agave
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. nuts, chopped (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 3/4 c. whole-wheat or oat flour
- 1 drop of cinnamon bark essential oil (from Young Living)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt (optional)
- 3 c. rolled oats
- 1 c. golden raisins
- 1 c. carob chips (if desired)
- Beat together butter and Blue Agave until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon oil; beat well. Add whole-wheat flour, baking soda, and sea salt; mix well. Stir in oats, raisins, nuts, and carob chips and mix wel again. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, then remove to a wire rack.
Option:
To make bar cookies, put dough in an ungreased 9" x 13" metal baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.
Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.
